Customer Service Representative.

Saris is looking for candidates for Customer Service. This is an hourly, entry-level position in our Sales Department. If you have an interest in a career in the bicycle products industry, this is an excellent start. Many of our former Customer Service Representatives have advanced within the company and within the cycling industry.


Our Customer Service Representatives help our customers with questions about our bike racks, trainers and other bike related products. Experience with bikes (either professional or personal) and with computers working on spreadsheets, the Internet, and word processing is helpful. The position is in an office environment and requires answering 60-70 calls each day, while working at a computer. Occasional travel and weekend work is required. Saris Cycling Group offers a casual working environment.

Regional Manager –North West

Our Regional Managers maintain a home office central to the territory. Meet with Independent Bike Dealers promoting and educating about our products. Our Northwest RM will travel throughout a territory that includes Northern California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Montana and Wyoming. The focus the territory is on the top dealers. Most of which are located in Northern California, Portland and Seattle. Because of this, we want our RM located within a close proximity of the San Francisco Market. This will afford our RM more time at home, and less on the road.


Our ideal candidate will possess the following:


  • Able to travel extensively, up to 80% of the time.
  • Great Organization and Time Management Skills. Able to plan out an organized approach to managing the territory.
  • Have a passion for cycling, health, fitness and training. An understanding of the concepts of Exercise Physiology or Performance Training. Ideally we want someone who would actively use a PowerTap.
  • Sales skills, experience in sales and territory management. Knowledge of cycling industry helpful.
  • Outgoing personality, the ability to establish, develop and maintain strong relationships with our customers.

Purchasing, Sourcing and Planning

You will be working in our corporate office and production facility in Madison, WI. Saris is seeking candidates to join our Manufacturing Office.


Intermediate level experienced professional in purchasing, materials and production control.


Work under the direction of the Materials Manager and is responsible for the cost effective procurement of materials, products, equipment, supplies and services. Maintains bills of materials, routings, quality specifications and product costing. Is a member of product development teams and is involved in make/buy decisions. The position is also involved in production scheduling, and the justification for procurement of additional manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities may be adjusted to fit the skills of the right candidate.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Cost effective procurement of materials, products, supplies, equipment and services. Makes make/buy decisions based on costing analysis of products/components.
  • Works with current MRP system to maintain manufacturing, inventory, part information current.
  • Create and maintain bills of material, routings, Product Costing, and Quality Specifications.
  • Analyzes products for cost reduction possibilities (design, manufacture, etc.)
  • Member of new product development teams.
  • Scheduling of production floor and review of daily floor performance (daily build and down time sheets).
  • Researches the need for the acquisition of new manufacturing equipment to improve efficiency, reduce costs, improve turns and decrease inventory etc.
  • Design and administration of system to monitor vendor performance.
  • Provides backup to Materials Manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS:


  • 4 year degree in Industrial Engineering, Mfg Systems Engineering or equivalent education.
  • 3-5 Years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong computer skills – including MS Office, Access, MS Project and experience working with ERP/MRP systems (Microsoft Dynamics NAV).

Software Engineer

Working in an exceptionally dynamic environment independently, on internal teams, and with external resources, Saris Cycling Group’s Software Engineer is responsible for executing and managing all Software Development. This is done under the guidance of the Director of Engineering and directly on various Project (i.e. Hardware) teams as the internal point person and/or direct programming resource. Direct responsibility includes the coordination of design, development, testing, and debugging of all software. Additional efforts are required to support firmware testing and debugging, customer service support and production utilities to improve profitability.


RESPONSIBLE FOR:


  • Software project Architecture and Project Management to assure projects are completed to specs, on time and within budget.
  • Identify, justify and manage external software resources and alliances.
  • Ability to develop new code, troubleshoot and resolve existing code issues and challenges.
  • Develop intuitive interfaces for end user packaged software which is integrated with various hardware devices.
  • Understand, establish and execute hardware/software interactions and protocols and all software-related documentation.
  • Establish, manage and/or execute detailed testing programs to ensure seamless new/improved product introductions.
  • Support firmware engineering programs, architecture, debugging, testing, etc… as needed.
  • Anticipate, interface directly with and support customer service related challenges.
  • Provide, support & develop production/engineering related utilities to increase efficiencies and improve profits.

Lead Press Operator

JOB SUMMARY: Punch press set-up and operation using appropriate blueprints and other instructions.


You will be responsible for:

  • Set-up of the punch presses - using appropriate blue prints and procedures.
  • Working with our Material Handlers to get needed parts and materials into your production area.
  • Operating of e an electric chain hoist to put coiled stock on the uncoiling apparatus.
  • First piece inspection of materials, especially before you begin each designated job.
  • Maintain piece part count and accurately inform production control of counts and scrap.
  • Managing scrap and quality.
  • Insuring that machinery and dies are in proper working order, inspecting for wear, performing preventative maintenance, working with tool & die shop for other maintenance and repair of tooling, working with maintenance department on punch press upkeep and repair.
  • Following appropriate safety procedures – including hearing protections, use of steel toed shoes, safe lifting, proper lock-out procedures etc.
  • Be responsible for internal and external changes to machine controls, which requires the use of a variety of small and detailed hand tools.
  • Monitoring and training of lower level press operators.
  • Keep area organized, i.e. know where supplies are located.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Be:

  • Reliable, Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Experienced: must have experience operating and setting up punch presses in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledgeable:
    • Must be able to read and interpret information from measuring devices (i.e. micrometer), blue prints and specification sheet.
    • Must have general math skill knowledge.
  • Safe and Capable:
    • Must be able to move and use the arms and feet within full range of motion or otherwise be able to operate machine controls.
    • Must be able to safely handle and transport dies weighing up to 50 pounds within a height range of floor to chest height, either with or without assistance.
    • Must be able to stand doing repetitive tasks on cement floors for most of the work day.

Welder

JOB SUMMARY: MIG Welding of metal objects – flat steel, tubing etc. to create finished components used Saris Cycling Group’s products. Ensuring that the welds created are structurally sound and will result in defect free products for our customers. Repairing defective welds when appropriate to ensure that the result will be our standards of performance.


Your will be responsible for:

  • Setting up jigs and fixtures.
  • Contacting a material handler or personally operating fork lift or other material handling equipment to get appropriate parts into your work area.
  • Inspecting parts to make sure that they meet quality standards, especially before you begin each designated job.
  • Perform appropriate welding tasks – MIG Welding.
  • Material Handling of finished work by transferring the pallets, bins or totes.
  • Maintaining equipment: cleaning jigs, tips, changing welding tanks etc.
  • Quality control, inspecting finished welds for quality, repairing bad welds.
  • Responsible for minor maintenance.
  • Operating Robotic Welders: loading and unloading fixture on welder, inspecting welds for soundness.
  • Keeping area organized, and knowing where supplies are located.

Our Ideal Candidate will be:

    • Must be able to create welds that are functionally sound and look good.
    • Must be able to read blueprints.

  • Skilled:
    • Must be able to use and manipulate welding equipment controls or otherwise perform these tasks.

    • Must be able to safely transfer loads weighing up to 120 pounds from floor to chest height or otherwise transport and work with such materials.
    • Must use appropriate safety equipment including – steel toed shoes/boots, welding sleeves, coats, masks, gloves etc.
  • Capable:
    • Must be able to use and manipulate welding equipment or otherwise operate this equipment.
    • Must be able to move and use arms within a full range of motion to perform welding operations or otherwise perform these tasks.

Product Manager - Integrated Consumer Experience

Saris Cycling Group is a manufacturer of innovative Saris brand Car Racks and Cycle Ops brand Power Measurement, Indoor Cycling and fitness products. We are looking for someone to ensure a consistent and interactive consumer experience across all products and to extend the user’s positive experience with our products beyond the physical hardware. Coordinate a detailed and rigorous cross-product development process, including the identification of new market opportunities, developing initial product initializations, develop and manage an interactive services portfolio, its budgets and goals. The ICE - Product Manager will be the integrated consumer use expert.


The Integrated Consumer Experience (ICE) - Product Manager works with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Engineering and other external resources to create and maintain a unified consumer experience across all products and brands. In doing so they will:


  • Manage the full “Experience Life Cycle” of interactive services, including but not limited to Software, Web, Communities, Education and Interactive Services that supports physical products across categories.
  • Integrate Software, Education, Interactive Services, User Communities, Web and other technologies into the use of physical products to exceed our consumer’s expectations.
  • Drive greater value through improved definition, delivery and performance of the interactive components of Saris/CycleOps branded products.
  • Enhance the consumer’s experience as well as increase product use and brand loyalty with the product..
  • Product portfolio management – understand and execute all available tools and resources to remain “in front” of the consumer and to be the profitable “voice of the customer."
  • Conduct and maintain consumer research and data across all consumer segments.
  • Product Usage Analysis – oversee how products are being used and determine what services would enhance the consumers experience.
  • Product conception, working with consumers, marketing, and other outside resources to develop initial product definitions – price points, product features, design input, etc.
  • Product Development – be the Consumer Experience Expert and coordinator with product management on product development teams to ensure a unified experience.
  • Product marketing (market planning). – Using research, industry data and market trends. Prepare and present presentations internally, to customers and at industry shows or meetings.
  • Market intelligence, maintain information on competitive product and determine how that affects the consumer experience.
  • Participate in the development of product promotions, sales literature for catalogs, spec sheets and national advertising.
  • Participate in national trade shows as per booth, literature and arrangements.
  • Lead various project teams.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or equivalent program, or equivalent experience, five or more years of professional experience in Product/Service management, effective communication skills, written and verbal, be highly organized and detail orientated, be willing to travel and must be able to deal with a fast-paced environment. A knowledge of and passion for cycling, triathlon, or an active life style is a plus. This is a full-time position and will be eligible for benefits. You will be working from our Madison facilities. Power Sales Manager

Under the direction of the National Sales Manager this person is responsible for sales of Fitness-related products and other Power Measurement products to non-IBD Accounts. This includes support of CycleOps Indoor Cycle, stationary trainer and PowerTap products. Responsibilities also include promoting the Fitness Product lines, providing troubleshooting and support of product to Fitness Club Accounts, Distributors and Fitness Retailers and end users. Assisting in keeping the Fitness product content of the company web site current and fresh and customer service support relating to the Fitness product.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fitness Products – Drive sales and provide product information and promotion to, Fitness Clubs, Fitness Product Retailers, Distributors, Internet Accounts and the top Independent Bicycle Dealers that carry fitness related products.
  • Promote Fitness products to the above noted markets, through outbound & inbound telemarketing, e-mail, web communication and mail-based programs.
  • Fitness Related Product – customer interface – sales effort, product education, warranty issues, and product seminars.
  • PowerTap Product – promotion and sales to non-IBD customers including OEM and Coaching/Performance Training Center Accounts.
  • Forecasting of Fitness-related product sales and Power Products (PowerTap, Trainers) on a monthly basis.
  • Communicating the benefits of the Fitness-related product, biometric feedback, training with power etc. to customer base.
  • Managing Fitness-related product content of company web site: update weekly, internal information, Allen Lim information/articles, customer corner reviews, fresh dynamic web update and possible newsletter/information.
  • Working closely with Product Management and Engineering, regarding product issues for the Fitness, Trainer and PowerTap related product lines.
  • Providing customer service support for Fitness-related products, by direct contact with end users, and by providing the CS Department with the means, information and education to support the product to the end users.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Process Specialist

The Process Specialist is responsible for the efforts to improve efficiency, quality, reliability, cost and effectiveness.

  • Work with department managers to identify opportunities to improve ROI through process improvement and waste elimination.
  • Act as a change agent through direct involvement in processes.

  • Work closely with Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineer and the manufacturing organization on a day to day basis to coordinate production activity in the fabrication department.
  • Lead / drive system enhancements through improved process management, data collection and data analysis and ensure accuracy of production data.
  • Use data collected to identify opportunities for process improvement and drive change in the organization.
  • Monitors and controls production processes to ensure conformance to specified requirements.
  • Develops new processes.
  • Participates in design reviews to ensure new products are designed for manufacturability.
  • Develops necessary process or material specification documentation and assists in the training of manufacturing operators.
  • Examines and suggests improvements for existing tooling, process equipment, controls, specifications, procedures, drawings, etc.
  • Supports the management of company suppliers and performs failure analysis and corrective action responses for non-conforming product.
  • Develops feasibility studies and cost justifications relating to the procurement of special equipment/machines/controls, and provides R.O.I. and cost reduction support data.
  • Actively participates in the lean manufacturing initiatives, monitoring production quality indicators and initiating improvement methods.
  • Manage a comprehensive shop floor control system. Assist in the development of a production plan and logistics that drives the shop floor activities.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Vendor Certification/Quality assurance program.
  • Assist in determining the applicability of SPC (standard process controls) at Saris. If deemed applicable, assist in developing the systems for usage.
  • Performs other duties when required or requested.

Candidates should have a Bachelors Degree or equivalent professional experience. Five or more years of experience in positions involving process design and improvement is needed. APIC’s certified – CPIM, experience in QS-9000 certification, Strong analytical skills, working knowledge of Shop Floor Control and JIT manufacturing are all strongly desired. Having proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Word and Navision is desirable. Must be highly organized, detail orientated and be able to deal with a fast paced environment.
