*A note about ceramic bearings
CycleOps has chosen the finest ABEC 5 rated ceramic bearings for use in the PowerTap SLC+ hub. However, as with any ceramic bearing, certain precautions should be taken to ensure proper function.
- Ceramic bearings achieve their lower rolling resistance by using a harder ball. However, this harder ball can damage the race under severe impact loads. For this reason, ceramic bearings are best limited to road usage.
- The ceramic bearings in your PowrTap SLC+ use a lighter seal than a standard bearing to further reduce friction, extra care should be taken to reduce the risk of dirt and debris contaminating your bearings. Do not pressure wash or submerge your PowerTap.
- To maintain your warranty, any service or maintenance, including de-greasing and re-lubing, of your PowerTap bearings should be performed by Saris Cycling Group only. Please call 1-800-783-7257 for additional questions.
